True compassion and a genuine understanding of the human condition are the attributes that effectively bring comfort to those in need. This is most important as individuals and those dear to them begin to consider how to understand and approach life’s finality. Dr. Baxter is a profound person in these moments. She brings intellect, clinical excellence and humanism to every patient and family she meets. Kelly sets the bar for genuine quality palliative care in the region.
— Herbert J Brennan, D.O.
I am writing this testimonial based on my experience with Kelly Baxter when she was an ICU nurse followed by a member of Palliative care team at Kent County Hospital. I was a staff Intensivist, Director ICU and Chief of Medicine at Kent Hospital.

Kelly is one of the most compassionate, caring and decent people I know. As an ICU nurse, she was always on point with the patient care. Not only that, she was also a huge patient advocate. I loved working with her. Her calm attitude during rounds and in general brought down the anxiety level a few notches. It was a sad day when she left the ICU and joined the palliative care team.

As part of the palliative care team, she was an amazing resource to consult. No matter how busy her day would be, she always made us feel that she had time for us. Her background as a critical care nurse and her ability to see things differently made her integral and invaluable to the difficult discussions in the ICU.

I am very happy that she is embarking on this journey as she will be great. She has already proved herself over many years that she is a very competent palliative care provider and I know that she will continue to do so in her practice.
